Starfish Nippers aims to increase social inclusion and participation levels in beach activities for children (from ages 5) and young people with an intellectual impairment, physical disability and/or additional needs who find themselves capable but challenged by the requirements of mainstream junior Surf Life Saving programs.

Activities are modified Nippers beach and water activities such as games, running, beach flags, wading, swimming and boards as well as activities with the club’s Age Group Nippers. The program is run entirely by our friendly and qualified volunteers.

The Starfish Nippers program has a profound and positive impact on everyone who gets involved. The benefits flow to not only our Starfish Nippers and their families, but also to our volunteers/trainers, our Age Group Nippers and the club overall.
